PSYB32H3 Lecture Notes - Lecture 3: Rorschach Test, Thematic Apperception Test, Semi-Structured Interview
Document Summary
When 2 persons are measuring something, they come up with the same conclusion. Test-retest reliability may not result in a good relationship if the test is state-like (severity of depression) and the person ends up changing. Alternate form reliability: when a test appears in 2 different versions/forms. Ecological validity: how well we can predict what happens in an assessment environment to the real world. Dependent on reliability; if something is not reliable, its not valid. Criterion validity: evaluating by determining whether a measure is. Construct validity: the extent to which scores or ratings on an assessment relates to behaviours according to some theory or hypothesis: ex. This person scores high on a given test and we tell observers to stare at the person. Characteristics of clinical interviews: what questions would be important to ask a patient. Different questions are asked depending on the paradigm that is adopted by the clinician.
