First contact: fast adapting, respond to one cycle of stim. When touch s/t when fingertips for the first time, this is what these receptors detect. Sai: when you want to touch and recognize based on details; blind people use it to read (braille) - need time to process it properly, not fast adapting - sustained pressure, spatial defamations etc.
