Problem solving is a core part of cognitive psychology. We consistently are confronted by a situation that may require some degree of thinking and some degree of respond that can allow us to solve a problem. Sometimes what we know and how we think about a situation is not capable of solving the problem in front of us. Problem solving is trying to bring your knowledge and your way of thinking to solve or address a problem and solve it. Problem solving in the oxford dictionary will often refer to skills and strategies that are creating for solving a problem. Sometimes we have background knowledge based on what we have learned to address a problem and sometimes we don"t and we have to adapt and come up with new strategies to skill these new problems. It is extremely important to structure a problem in the correct way.
