If you are in a high arousal mode, you are more likely to engage in stereotype and prejudice. If you are sad, depressed, calm less likely to engage in prejudice: this is not due to that group but due your mood, ex. If i happen to be in a good mood today, it could affect my thinking. Integral affect: elicited within the inter-group context and involves the stereotyped group, ex. You have actual feelings towards a specific group: chronic out-group affect is defined as a stable feeling towards an out-group, as a whole, can be implicit or explicit. Important determinant of chronic racial anxiety is the extent to which a perceiver feels that the out-group member is culturally dissimilar.
