Document Summary
Come with questions regarding dr. jaclyn and mr. hyde case-study. Maybe we will get to meet mrs. hyde and she will be able to clarify everything. Age: adverse effects of brain damage on adults behaviour tends to increase w/age. We need to take into account what normal cognitive aging looks like: Sensory + motor changes: sensory modalities decrease in sensitivity and acuity. The brain is slower in processing information, movement is slower (ex. finger tapping test + peg groove board test) Someone who has been playing the piano all their life will not do poorly on finger tapping test. Attentional function: older individuals do worse on the digit backward test vs. digit forward. If they are distracted by pain they won"t do well on attentional task (i. e. brief test on attention) They perform worse as it is more cognitive demanding. Memory: memory mistakes are more prone in stressful situations.
