File drawer problem: to be published, they need to bring something new to the table, something new and interesting. Outcome measures: reduction of symptoms, complete remission. Gaps talk about them and hypothesize. What is needed: research discover and analyze what has been written why science important despite flaws, critical evaluation assess each study (strengths, weaknesses) Identify themes, and address conclusions across studies (via convergence, and contradictions) synthesis. Make a point about the convergence or contradiction and support it with evidence from the articles. Set aside pseudoscience: acknowledge power of vividness effect . Look for peer reviewed empirical, despite intense criticisms.
