Document Summary

Goal-oriented planned behaviour and more lexible b/c it is planned; achieve a speciic goal. Execuive processes: prefrontal cortex important for serving cogniive processes. Working memory most studied for cogniive control. Slide 5 will be on midterm 2! Parts listed known as important for cogniive control: dorsolateral prefrontal cortex broadmann"s area 6 or 9, acc above corpus callosum. Size of frontal lobe in proporion to the rest of the brain increases dramaically as species move higher up to the hierarchy (e. g. from rat to human) Slide 7 each region has its own disinct connecivity as well as shared connecivity; connecions are highly interconnected w/ each other. Has its own set of connecivity w/ certain brain regions: do not need to know details for midterm. Assessed by a task called delayed-response task (wm: delayed response task does not make a response in the beginning, then screen comes down and then up; then monkey can choose the item.
