Think about movies depicing future despair i. e. mad max, etc. where small groups guard resources and the largest numbers of the populace experience deprivaion. These ideas are based on concepions of inite resources and belief of inherent aggression in the face of shortages. However, they do not take into account the amount of waste in today"s society and prominent global inequiies.
