Document Summary
There"s a connection between conflict & integration: e. g. , sports teams. Competition makes a better integrated team: e. g. , marriage. Strong marriages last despite the fights: e. g. , work place. Drama & work place feud keeps work exciting. Office politics keep you more engaged with coworkers. 2 levels of unity: conflict alone can appear negative. But it has a positive function: there"s unity that"s opposite of conflict i. e. , harmony. Conflict in this view is inevitably viewed as negative: there"s another unity that includes conflict (like ying yang concept) Conflict for itself: this is a positive look on concept , e. g. , boxing, ufc, martial arts, etc. If there"s no choice being made, then it stops being a relationship: because relationships require the participation of both individuals. If only 1 person in charge, group tends to become more unified. E. g. , god, minister, professor, etc: provides the single point of reference of group expression. This gives a common identity amongst the group.
