Images have become so mashable, so transient and our ability to see norm has become very fine tune: this is how unstable norms are. We internalize a way we see the world. Through the 19th century a number of scientific techniques were developed to identify criminal and deviant types. Theses techniques were in many ways a forerunner. The idea that usually physical characteristic can mark the evil and criminal person is an ancient one. Urge to do that is very old. 19th century there were 4 techniques for criminal detection. Judging character on facial characters: shifty eyes, weak chin, large arrogant noses. Called a science but it was nonsense. Labelled a non- white ethnic group that were undesirable.
