What is going to replace religion: **the education system. Durkheim was an early advocate for mass education for all. Are schools capable of conveying values and morals to students: these debates revolve around the curriculum. Sex education anyone: to decrease pregnancy, to decrease drop-out rates for females, others see it as an attack on potential morality. What books should students be reading in school: the handmade tail (margaret atwood) = protested because of sexual content, how to kill a mockingbird = protested because of old fashioned sense. The limits of socialization: the strength of an anti-academic youth culture society severely undermines a school s ability to successfully socialize students and their education role.
