Community has number of shifting meanings and sometimes it is difficult to differentiate between neighborhood and community. Sometimes community can encompass number of neighborhoods and sometimes we talk about local neighborhoods. In a lot of ways, in local neighborhoods, there exist strong communal groups. In certain kinds of sports, community exists in various ways. One urban researcher set out to document definitions of community and he came up with hundred. Problem is that academic uses definition of community is used in a way media uses it and it is used in a very broad sense. Certain people are more involved in clubs and ethnic activities and some people just attend classes and leave. Sociologists have spent lots of time and effort to figure what community is. Back in 1960s, football communities were heavily studies. As a result of social change, community may have been lost and retrieved in some way.
