Document Summary

Vibration of piano wire in the outside environment creates pitch. Pitch is produced when the frequency of the wind blowing matches the frequency of the piano wire. Pitch of the wire can also be produced in water, not just in air. A pool is built to display the work. Vortex is created by pumping water through cylinder. Water flow creates vibration in the wire, producing aquaeolian tone overhead. Wire rises 100 feet to a sound board near the ceiling. Tones are amplified by pick-up attached to the soundboard in the ceiling. Amplify water drop using long cable wire that can balance contact pickup without interference of other noise. Water drops on different surface create clashing effect. Performed in a fountain that pumps water every 5 minutes and gradually slows down to show differences in water drop sound.
