Mary rowe, a doctor using a pseudonym (because it was too dangerous to openly announce what men were doing to female colleagues even in the late 1970s) termed it saturn"s rings phenomenon : seemingly trivial sexist incidents on its own are like dust particles in the rings around the planet separately they"re tiny, but when they coalesce, they form a very visible pattern. Out of awareness that sisters had no place in brotherhoods and that their activist brothers could be dangerous to them came the american and european gender resistance feminisms: their watchword: patriarchy, argue that patriarchy found wherever men and women are in contact, difficult to eradicate because superiority over women deep in consciousness and subconsciousness of most men and built into privileges (cid:224) sense of entitlement to best jobs, claims on women"s bodies, domination of cultural and media landscapes.
