Document Summary
Quanti cation is our way to deal with tons of stu and not just pick randomly here and there. We need to understand and acknowledge that we are sampling. Archaeological survey: most people think of archaeologists as people digging, a lot of archaeologists actually walk and survey a landscape. Answer: you can potentially nd archaeological sites, but there are better ways of going about that such as going to the library and doing research: the main goal of survey is to nd landscape level adaptation. Hunger gatherer mobility: they moved around constantly. Their tendency was to live on the land instead of just in one place.
