Unsavory spaces that had no desirability in making open public spaces but now there is a desire. Desire to do more. Technical that needs to be resolved before making it into a public space. (layer to support ecological + cultural functions) Urban parks = lots of pressure of people using the space for various desires. Restoration education + recreational is on par. Not sure which one should be more dominant. The scale of these parks are so great, hard to create something legible. Wetlands are now protected due to law. (before = lots of dumping in the wetlands) (cid:1) (cid:1) (cid:1) Suggesting parking lots aren"t traditional open spaces. Re-thinking a lot = eran ben-joseph = multiple personalities. Most parking lots thinking of code requirements, not design.
