Document Summary

The dna polymerase has already gone by and have made okazaki fragmens, and there is a wrong base inserted. There are these 2 proteins, mut s and mut l, and they will run together along the dna helix and look for defermations. When it finds one, it stops, and mut l will start going along the strand looking for a nick. It will find it, and remove all the nucleotides in the new strand up to the deformation in the helix, and a different dna polymerase will come in and repair the helix using the parental strand as the template. Newly synthesized dna wont be methylated, but the parental dna will be methylated. Depurination is where a purine base is completely removed by a depurination enzyme . Deamination is where a deaminase come in and remove the amine group from cytosine which will convert it into uracil.
