Seemed to really appreciate or even worship nature. Matriarchal society - at least respected women and gave them a position of honor. Derived from the depiction of a bare chested woman wearing a ruffled skirt and holding snakes. Conclusion might be incorrect - the greeks didn"t respect women but worshipped their female gods - could be the same for the minoans despite their reverence for the snake-goddess.
