Tantalus: had a party for the gods and served up his son pelops, (origin of pelopponese). Demeter did not realize what she was being her and ended up eating part of the shoulder of pelops. The gods reformed him and gave him and ivory shoulder, and condemned tantalus to hades. They set him in a pool of water, that would recede whenever he tried to drink from it. Wheels were used in erotic magic to help win love using a bird strapped to it.
