Document Summary
Justice coming from place of interconnectedness, how might we think of respect, care and dignity: crime can be seen as tear in fabric of relationships, something needs to be fixed other than just the individual, restoring relationships, myths. Idea that those who offend are alone responsible: need punitive measures, social distancing, hitting on a particular characteristic, those invisible moment that marginalize people and push people to the outside, choosing sides. Law and justice as a process that has an awareness about that: choosing the side of the person who has been distanced and silenced, became a non-concern, traditional ways of walking about law discuss neutrality and objectivity. Is there an enforcement of separateness of the knower and the known. Logical positivism research: establish a power relationship b/t the knowers and the unknowns, the judges and judged, worked to police what can be said, structure of knowledge production.
