Ans regulates organs/processes not under conscious control including: Sym: axons come out of ventral roots from t1-l3: paravertebral ganglia chain relay connection, synapse onto. Parasym: axons only come out from cranial & sacral roots: ganglia closer to tissue, preganglionic axons longer so transmission faster. Solid line = myelinated: often preganglionic myelinated. Most organs innervated by both controlled in 2 ways.
