Criminal justice system only deals with laws under the criminal code. Many other regulations rely outside of the criminal procedure. There is a belief who believe that justice cannot be served if it holds a higher purpose. Ones persons justice might be another persons injustice. Substantive justice: the correctness of the law and the accuracy of case outcomes. Procedural justice: the fairness of the procedures to arrive at a verdict in a case. Both parties (the police/prosecution on one side and the accused/defense on the other) hope to win the case. Trial is heard by impartial fact-finders who determine the guilt or innocence of the accused. The judged ensures that proper legal procedures are followed; The result should be a fair prosecution and trail and a just outcome view.
