It was this generation of student who fostered the cosmopolitan colonial culture of the 1920s and 1930s in korea (textbook pg 54) Relaxation of the popular press (ie. censorship) Advertising revenue (japanese commercial sources) ie. flourishing of women"s magazines/journals in the 1920s. During the 1920s, korea experienced what could be called a renaissance of magazine culture, with approximately 170 different magazines in circulation including a variety of women"s magazines.
