Document Summary

You don"t know what the risk is. These are the 3 main components we will inventory and that are usually talked about in urban forest management plans. Can find these components in many different places: public places, natural parks, small green spaces, streets. Can have very diverse environment: one with woodlot, single trees and shrubs. Can have a few methods to inventory. Top-down: can gis and remotely sensed applications (drone or plane flying over area taking images) and assess where trees are in environment, digitizing. Scan environment and see where trees are (ex: google car with camera: can do same with woodlots. Actually go to each tree and measure it. But if have huge area, maybe just take a sample: for woodlots: Usually take a representative sample (can"t measure all) Combined: use remote sensing then go down to those trees then take measurements. Can even get data on how tall trees are (even measure tree height)
