2 short essay questions (10 marks each) and 1 long essay (20 marks) The exam will include all of the topics covered in the class, as well as the material from the required textbook chapters and supplementary readings. The short essays will primarily test your knowledge and understanding of key concepts, techniques and ideas in the field of research methods. The essay will ask you to apply your knowledge of the theoretical concepts of research methods to a practical situation. Your goal in the essay will be to demonstrate that you understand the range of implications associated with carrying out research in the real world. Go out and talk to people - different from a survey because it is active and you go out and ask questions. Interviews - you go into depth with the interviewee. Interview questions tend to be more open ended - to give people a chance to tell you opinions and perspectives.
