Usefulness of oral tradiion as sources for historical construcion. Disincion between an oral history and an oral tradiion. Oral history: a more specialized group of knowledge about specialized histories in the past itself. More relexive, either in secret or narraive form. Oral tradiion: has to do with culture the modern is not vested in the past. Even if it tends to break with the past, it inherits aspects with it. Historians in the past have failed to treat myth as historical condiioned texts. They are not moulded in the unmoveable past. Myths can be used to relect social, poliical and economic situaions. The posiion that sees the epic or oral tradiion as a limited source. The variability of the story that is given. The occurrence of transmission being bombarded by facts, The inherited biases oral tradiions have biases of interpretaion. Interpretaions change due to circumstances or by a person.
