Despite colonialism ending with declarations, habit persisted and influenced race relations, political structures and economic systems. Colonial story is not just in the past, but continues to effect the world now multi-ethnic makeup, inequalities, devastations of encounters, land claims of indigenous and maroons, racism. Our current daily lives: city centres planned around colonial centres, tourist sites and museums, foods from technologies of indigenous adapted by colonists. The colonial story is one of violence as well as perseverance. The end of the atlantic world system: bringing together people, animals, plants. Age of revolution: 19th century, independent nations forming that were not connected to another continent. Moving from the atlantic world and becoming their own that has global connection.
