South carolina: white planters had gained their wealth through indigo and rice plantations ; harsh labour. Sunday was slaves day off, so white men feared that if there was an uprising it would be sunday therefore white men were required to carry guns with them on that day. A group broke into ship and stole everything from it, killed the white owner and continued t do that among other slave homes: burned plantations, kills slave owner lives. Akan drum (c. 1600 - 1800: originated from africa and brought to north america, reminiscent of style, rebels used drums to convey messages to one another. Skin on top of it was reapplied by deer skin in north america.
