Recall that we have defined the international system broadly in this class. We have included diplomatic relations, the uses of military force, economic cooperation and economic warfare, and development politics. We have also given attention to different levels of analysis, considering how personal and psychological conditions, domestic political and ideational worldviews, and the structure of the international system have all shaped events. You thus have wide latitude in your essay topic and your analytic approach.
