Document Summary

The memory resides in the brain region that was activated when it was experienced. The hippocampus plays an immediate role in binding the experiences with the cortex. The explicit memories flow from the cortex down to the medial temporal lobe and onto the hippocampus. Given enough learning and memory experiences, theres reciprocal actions from the hippocampus back to the cortex through plasticity become strengthened. If we activate 1, it can activate the whole network. Over time with repeated learning, the index mechanism of the hippocampus becomes less important. This means the cortical modules start forming (cid:272)o(cid:374)(cid:374)e(cid:272)tio(cid:374)s o(cid:374) thei(cid:396) o(cid:449)(cid:374), a(cid:374)d lo(cid:374)g te(cid:396)(cid:373) (cid:373)e(cid:373)o(cid:396)ies (cid:374)o lo(cid:374)ge(cid:396) (cid:396)e(cid:395)ui(cid:396)e the hippo(cid:272)a(cid:373)pus. These are motivated behaviours to act towards a goa, they are goal oriented. The final pathway is often hypothalamus, galgnia and motor pathways.
