Plato: all things are made of triangles. Aristotle: the earth is in the centre of the universe. Hippocrates: the human body is made of hour bodily fluids. Democritus: education is a refuge of the unfortunate. God created the earth and all living things (all religions) Galileo galilei: first to tell the dogmatism and the ignorance of the churchmen. Being tortured, imprisoned -> know all the right answers but not available. Together with copernicus and newton to liberate science from religion. All about observations and experiments, free from metaphysical nonsense. The scientific method demarcates science from all that pseudoscience ( ) and ensures that science is a rational enterprise. We are interested in the history of scientific theories => changes in the mosaic of accepted theories. Contemporary scientific mosaic -> description of the world. Natural science: quantum physics, general relativity, cosmology & astronomy, chemistry, genetics, biology, neurophysiology (physical and chemical reality, and biological phenomena, study of human anatomy)
