Evolves from many types of already existing songs. Work songs to regulate forms of work. What we see embedded in blues is a re ection of southern life in the turn of the century. What is going on in southern life (depiction of what is happening, but they also aspiration and re ect a vision of a different life) Construct of songs is connected to two forms of music. Melding of these two brought together in the form of the blues. As blues become its own genre it looses the gospel aspect but keeps the structure of it. More often than not its about things that make you blue. Imagination that no matter what the troubles are there is a way beyond the sorrow of your condition.
