We"ve read the may story: the journey as a structuring device of marco"s journey in the quest for his mother. Structurally, the novel overall was done this way for specific purposes. After all, what better way to create a particular setting in which de amicis had the opportunity to put specific elements to carry out his mission as a writer. The school setting classroom set in turin highlights what de amicis wanted to present in a heterogeneous context that reflected socially and morally the new country. The stories themselves are confronted with students who come from all over.
