Increase in obesity and diabetes: adult diabetes pancreas doesn"t work, too much glucose in blood blood becomes damaging, damages small capillaries, especially in distal parts of the body. Increasing obesity as well: more obese individuals in rural areas, very car dependent, more money put into healthcare system less money put into other areas, education, police, etc. Kpe161: 5-10 kg over recommended weight, danger relative to general health. Higher risk of developing cardiovascular disease: 15 kg + overweight at middle age, reduced life expectancy, implications for quality of life.
