Fatimids origins: jaffar as sadiq eldest son ismail as successors but died. Imamate passed from ismail to his son muhammad. Al ismailiya al khalisa denied the death of ismail during life of his father. The mubarakiyya were a larfer group of ismailis and believed that the imamte had passed from ismail to his son muhammad. The larger one believed muhammad was alive and would return as mahdi became qaramita. A smaller group recognized the death of muhammad b ismail and the continuance of the dawa in his offspring. Curiously some ismaili thought that ubayd allah was descended from qadda. Abbasids and other groups to attack the fatimid genealogy. Destruction of tahart and rustamids state in same year. Rise of the fatimid caliphate and early period in north africa. Heavy tax and lots of pressure on ismaili. Fatimids defeated him the same year al qaim died. After abu yazid"s loss and al mansur concealed the death of his father.
