Document Summary

Basis of theses of existentialism: existence precedes essence, and the primacy of subjectivity. If all beliefs had to be based on a certainty we couldn"t get beyond that cogito". Some peripheral beliefs cost us little to abandon. You cannot judge others, for there is no reason to prefer one project to another. Since all of your choices are arbitrary, you receive into one hand what you grant with the other (choices don"t matter to any objective scale of values while also supremely important because they represent humanity: having it both ways) Not quite, because not choosing tools a choice. One"s own commitments are implicit judgements of others (you can judge someone for acting in bad faith) Life has no meaning a priori (value is the meaning that i give it) Man realizes that he cannot be anything unless others acknowledge him as such. If no-one sees me as funny, than maybe i"m not funny .
