Document Summary

Certain facts about poverty and af uence: poverty exists; what kinds of poverty. Relative poverty: poverty in relative to wealth of neighbours. Absolute poverty: lacking such basic things as nutrition, shelter: the lack of suf cient income to meet biological needs, kinds of af uence. We must transfer our wealth to the poor in order to x this: letting people die is morally wrong; assisting others is morally right. Ostensibly by not redistributing our wealth we are letting people die. Letting die is not different than killing; we are all murderers: reasons why not helping the impoverished might be different than murder. Motivation; the latter is not driven by any desire to achieve the result: we still punish manslaughter. Dif culty; it"s hard to kill, and conversely, its hard to not let die: alright, so relax. Just give an amount that"s easy to give.
