What this led to was long and drawn out post wwii negotiations between the allies as the us tried to gain an advantage from their creation of the habomb. Ultimately much of the aggression towards the soviets was due to a misunderstanding of ideology. The us began associating soviet russia with nazi germany and assumed that the soviets sought to expand their territory despite the fact that the ussr had little to no interest in territorial conquests. As a result the us attempted to thwart many of the suggestions placed by the ussr for a post war reconstruction and decided to base the reconstruction in a way that aligned with their odp. In short, the us, great britain, and france sought a reconstruction that weakened the eastern bloc, and yet found that in doing so they were creating the western bloc so feared by the soviet union.
