Internalization of constitution in the soul: phil will remain oriented towards phil b/c of appreciation that it"s the highest human vocation. S: doesn"t make a difference if this city will/will not exist. Doesn"t make a difference because it"s a thought experiment for sake of understanding: but it makes a difference when thinking about it theoretically. Republic: (1) dialogue about a quest to understanding (2) to think about associated questions of politics connected to living good life for oneself. Philosopher has desire to understand but equally wants to enlighten those around him. Phil isn"t selfish, has concern for others. Conventional justice vs. philosophical ideals of justice. Drama of dialogue, implies that in real cities, only form of action of integrity without compromise is something outside of political life and engages others in philosophical conversations. Along theoretical model of kallipolis, there are glimmers of the thought that everyone can be a participant in philosophical conversation.
