Post-colonial studies were heavily influenced by research trends in india, where subaltern studies took place. Ir has not traditionally used fiction as evidence, nor has it analyzed culture: recent post-colonial theorizing emphases that power is multifaceted and flows in a number of directions for and against societies of the third world.
