Media is an important part of this world today. Media communicates what is acceptable and what is not acceptable. Media offers images of leaders, of parties, of people in political authority (judges, etc. ), they deal with social values, nature of institutions etc. News stories help define structure of our political world. News does more than reflect reality(?). News program structure our reality, not only in what they show but in terms of the language that they use. Media not only defines what is acceptable, debatable etc. Tv"s view of the world is particularly powerful because its visual. Doesn"t mean it accurate, but its powerful. Media tells us what to think about. Issues that are presented the media influence what we think about. Another resource that political class has is legitimacy- they are elected, people vote for them, they represent citizens. Citizens have control over this to an extent unlike having no power over what media does.
