Document Summary

Lecture 7 (nov 2): constitutional change since the 1960s. Go straight to the point in the introducion. Try not to use only the most recent research aricles. Coninue from last lecture: the noion of diversity on the court(bench) There has never been any irst canadian/aboriginal appointed to the supreme court. There has never been so called asian canadian (of all asian community) appointed the supreme. The diversity issue is sill a challenge in the judicial system (both upper and lower courts) Diversity is in a beter state in canada than is in other countries, but is no where near where it should be. The evident here is that there is not much of a diference. The sense of professionalism and the educaion background, ulimately dictate that it doesn"t mater whether the judge was a minority or caucasian. In the end, they have gone through long indoctrinaion process, and in the end, they talk to their peers than other ethniciies.
