Document Summary

Specific immune responses include: humoral immunity mediated by b lymphocytes, humoral immunity involves substances found in humors, or body fluids, involves secretion of antibodies by plasma cells humoral immunity defends against bacteria, toxins and viruses in body fluids. Cell mediated immunity: mediated by t cells, and lysis of cells by cytotoxic t cells, cell mediated response defends against bacteria, viruses in body cells and part of reaction of transplant of tissues and cancer cells. Production of b and t lymphocytes hematopoietic stem cells differentiate into myeloid and lymphoid stem cells myeloid stem cells under appropriate stimulus will produce erythrocytes, granulocytes, platelets, monocytes. Activated t lymphocytes comprise 3 types of t cells effecctor cells (cytotoxic cells, cytotoxic killer t cells), these partake in cell mediated immune responses the other 2 types are regulatory cells and include helper t and suppressor cells.
