Document Summary

Classical conditioning: teach the animal to have a response. Primary reinforcer: something that satisfies a biological need. Conditioned stimulus: using a neutral item and forming an association with it. Operant conditioning: teach the animal to learn a behaviour. Shaping: any process to used to train new behaviours: real definition: gradual modification of an animals behaviour through a series of successive approximations. Associate conditioned response to a neutral stimulus. We can make a strong association between sound and food. And sound can be delivered as a reward immediately. When you want an association to form between the conditioned stimulus and an unconditioned response . Phondyke law: in order for a behaviour to be acquired, the reward must be presented immediately.
