Document Summary

We study human development to see how and why people change and how they stay the same as they get older: interdisciplinary. Differential susceptibility: how sensitive a person is to an environment (experience differs from person to person. Plasticity: human traits can be molded but still have a durability (personality is stable across the lifespan) People change over time and new behavior relies on what has already happened. Dynamic systems approach: human development is an ongoing, changing interaction between the individual and the environment. Dynamic system: continual change within person or group where each change is connected systematically to every other development in each individual and every society. Change continues over time and within our body systems and environment. Ecological model: founded by urie bronfenbrenner, states that distant forces like international politics and traditional heritage have an impact on developing persons.
