Document Summary

Child shares same genes with biological parents but not environment. Child shares same environment with adoptive parents but not genes: colorado adoption project: Longitudinal study taken over a long period of time. Used general intelligence tests to test specific cognitive skills. Result: biologically related individuals show significantly more correlation in iq than environmentally related. Intelligence seems to be much more about genetic heritage than environmental context: hostile and anti- social behaviour study. Child"s hereditary anti- social behaviour has a strong correlation to the biological parents having psychotic disorders. Problem: they also saw a strong correlation with the adoptive parents" disciplinary style and the biological parents" psychotic disorders. This is a feedback loop. One zygote divides into two eggs share all genes. Share the same environment and genes. Much more similarity in iq than dizygotic. Fraternal twins: twin studies, monozygotic, dizygotic, twin + adoption studies. Two zygotes become two eggs.
