Acquisition: how we perceive and learn from our experiences. Storage: how we represent and maintain knowledge gained from experience. Transformation: how we flexibly retrieve and use knowledge to guide actions. Describes the acquisition, storage, transformation and use of knowledge. Cognitive psych: the scientific study of how people (and occasionally animals) achieve cognition. Cognitive psychology is not focused on individual differences. But they do use differences caused by neuropathology to test cognitive theories. When answering the question after you graduate, what field do you hope to be employed in? , we use: perception: we perceive the question, the letters etc. , short term memory (memory for events that occured within a few seconds): Searching through and finding relevant info and then acting on it is what"s important. The way in which we assess and falsify theories is through experiments, and the results of them need to be publicly observable and replicable.
