Colour perception is universal , despite different categorizations in different languages: we just different uses for colour names. The way we use language influences the way we think about the world, so using different languages to name colour would influence how we see colour. Some colours are easier to name than others - everyone agrees on them (these are highly codable colours) Typical experiment to investigate colour naming practices is to show people chips of colours - point to the ones youve seen previously. Highly codable colours are easy to recognize for english speakers. There was no difference between english and dani colours - still treated colours the same way. Humans seem to be built to perceive certain focal colours.
