Document Summary

Focus on deception chapters --> emphasized more in test. Some would not see small words like of or letters at the end or start of a line. Accounts can differ between people for the exact same event. At early stages of an investigation, eyewitnesses to those crimes provide important info to the police --> sometimes this could be the only solid lead. Lots of people think that their memory is great. If you can be doubtful about your memory, you might actually be better. You start with lots of witnesses to the crime, which guides the evidence collection to the suspects that you may have, leading to piecing the whole story together. Our brains do not objectively record data and memory is subjective interpretations. 100% biased by upbringing and experience; 75% automatic thinking. We may attribute feelings to different things to align with our beliefs. Old info has more influence on new --> belief perseverance.
