PSY328H1 Lecture Notes - Lecture 1: Dependent And Independent Variables, Psych
Document Summary
Some things to remember when writing up your proposals: introduction. In your introduction or background section, you should discuss previous research that relates to the proposal you are putting forth. You don"t need to go into a lot of detail but make sure that you clearly outline the rationale for the study that you"ll be discussing. What are you interested in finding out: hypothesis. The hypothesis is an explicit statement of what you predict will happen in the study. The hypothesis might be stated in as few words as a sentence, but it is a very important part of your write-up. In stating your hypothesis, be clear about what is being predicted. Make sure to state the theoretical independent variable(s), as well as how it (they) was (were) manipulated. You may choose to have more than one i. v. in a study; make sure to mention all of them as well as all of their levels or conditions.
